Sitemap Best Practices
- Include all important pages (max 50,000 URLs per sitemap)
- Use proper URL formatting (include protocol like https://)
- Keep sitemap under 50MB (uncompressed) or split into multiple sitemaps
- Submit your sitemap to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools
- Update your sitemap regularly when adding new content
- Use consistent date formats (ISO 8601: YYYY-MM-DD)

Technical Specifications
π URL Format
Must use absolute URLs including protocol (http:// or https://). URLs should be properly encoded.
π File Size Limits
Maximum 50MB uncompressed or 50,000 URLs. Use sitemap index files for larger sites.

Use W3C Datetime format (YYYY-MM-DD or YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss+00:00).

Submitting Your Sitemap
After generating your sitemap, you need to submit it to search engines:
